Use in landscaping projects
Bamboo quickly creates dense privacy screens with an exotic, modern look for restaurant terraces, hotels, courtyards, Zen gardens and modern residential projects. It is very well suited to large planters on terraces and roofs, where it replaces conventional fences. Its foliage moves in the wind and creates a calm atmosphere.
Planting and spacing
For screens, 1–2 plants per linear metre are usually planted, depending on size. There are two types of bamboo: running types (for example Phyllostachys), which spread and must be planted with a rhizome barrier, and clumping types (for example Fargesia), which do not spread. We will recommend the right type for your project.
Care and maintenance
Bamboo prefers rich, moist soils and needs regular watering, especially in planters and in the first years. Frost hardiness depends on the species, down to about -15°C. Old or dead canes are removed in spring.
