Use in landscaping projects
Daylily (Hemerocallis) is one of the toughest perennials for green spaces: it tolerates heat, drought, poor soils and urban conditions. It is used on slopes, roundabouts, park beds, borders and along roads. Each flower lasts only one day, but a clump keeps producing new flowers for several weeks in summer.
Planting and spacing
Plant 4–6 plants per square metre. It prefers full sun or light partial shade and adapts to almost any soil. Planting can be done from spring to autumn.
Care and maintenance
Daylily needs very little care. Spent flower stems and dead leaves are cut back in autumn or spring. Every 4–5 years very dense clumps can be divided to keep flowering abundant.
