Use in landscaping projects
Snowberry is a safe choice for public green spaces: borders, low hedges, slopes, shaded areas under trees and parks. The decorative white berries stay on the branches for much of the winter. The berries are not edible and may cause discomfort if eaten.
Planting and spacing
It reaches 1–2 m. For low hedges plant 2–3 plants per linear metre, for areas 1–2 per square metre. It adapts to almost any soil, including poor ones, and tolerates sun and shade.
Care and maintenance
It is extremely frost-hardy and tolerant of urban conditions. Trim in spring and remove old stems periodically. It spreads by suckers, which makes it good for stabilising slopes.
