Use in landscaping projects
Standard roses are used in rows along paths, at building entrances, in the middle of beds, in formal gardens and in large terrace pots. The raised crown leaves room underneath for ground cover or low roses.
Planting and spacing
Plant 1–1.5 m apart in rows. Each plant is permanently tied to a sturdy stake just below the crown. They need full sun and fertile, well-drained soil; in pots, a rich compost.
Care and maintenance
Prune the crown in spring, in March, cutting stems back to 3–5 buds. Remove shoots that appear on the stem or from the base. In regions with harsh winters, protect the graft point in the crown with fleece.
