Use in landscaping projects
Pansies are the backbone of autumn and spring floral displays: beds in parks and squares, street planters, pots at building entrances and terraces. They tolerate cold and flower when most plants are dormant.
Planting and spacing
Plant in autumn (September–October) for flowers in autumn and again in spring, or in early spring. In beds, 25–35 plants per square metre are usually planted. They prefer sun or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil.
Care and maintenance
They need regular watering without waterlogging. Removing spent flowers prolongs flowering. They withstand moderate frosts, especially under snow; in summer heat they are usually replaced with summer bedding.
