Use in landscaping projects
European larch is a conifer that loses its needles in winter – completely normal for this species. It is used in parks, groups, large green spaces, shelterbelts and mountain areas, where its golden autumn colour is striking.
Planting and spacing
It reaches 25–35 m with an airy conical crown. Plant as a specimen or in groups 4–6 m apart. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soils; it does not tolerate waterlogging.
Care and maintenance
It is very frost-hardy. Water regularly in the first years, especially in dry summers. No pruning is needed. In winter, without needles, the tree is not dead – it leafs out again in spring.
